While Perez has regained his membership status, the PGA Tour has yet to provide clarity on when he will be eligible to participate in events. He has mentioned his intentions to compete in the three senior majors for which he qualifies: the U.S. Senior Open, the Senior PGA Championship, and the Senior British Open. He also hopes to receive approval for participation in regular Tour tournaments.
The PGA Tour issued a statement regarding the reinstatement process, emphasizing that players who do not qualify for the Returning Member Program can only regain their membership through the nonmember policy and any relevant disciplinary procedures. "At his request, Pat Perez was reinstated as a member but is not eligible to participate in PGA Tour-affiliated tournaments at this time. The PGA Tour does not comment on disciplinary matters," the statement read.
Perez's last appearance for LIV Golf was in August 2024 after three years with the league, and he was not retained by the 4Aces team he had played for. Following this, he took on a role with the LIV broadcast team last year, which, according to the Tour’s disciplinary guidelines, is considered a promotion of unauthorized events.
Typically, non-members have faced one-year suspensions from their last event, but it remains unclear whether Perez will serve a similar length of absence or what impact his broadcasting work will have on his penalties.
